Nike in the Bible?

25 Jun

Just a little tidbit of Greek for you all that I hope you will enjoy.

In Revelation 3:21 the Bible states”to him who overcomes…”

That word overcomes is the Greek word “nikao” from which the company athletic shoe company “Nike” was founded on.  It basically means to carry off victorious or “victory” for short (to overcome, to rule, etc.)

Thus, every time you see a nike show or a commercial we can remember the blood of Jesus as being victorious for our sins – thus making us Nike… overcomers.
