The sacrifice of praise

28 Jun

Hebrews 13:15  “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”

Let us look at this verse carefully.

First, it is through him that we offer up our praise – this is not something we can take credit for for we know that without him we are nothing.

Second, it is a sacrifice of praise – thanking the Father through his son Jesus Christ for our every blessing, wants and spiritual needs.

Thirdly, this should be done continuously throughout the day – as this is the only recipe for our spiritual success.

Fourthly, this verse states it must come from our mouth – although I am sure Jesus wants us to think about him within our own heads continually throughout the day and not get fired at work for babbling like an idiot – yet when we are alone there is nothing more that the heavenly father loves more than to hear our praise for it makes even the demons tremble at the sound of his name.

Fifthly and lastly, we must give God thanks to his name – for his name all encompasses why we love him so much – for it is his character.

Have a great day!

John
