Psalms 89 – God’s Loyalty To His Children (Hesed)

4 Apr

bible-and-candle_1043_1024x768

Note: This is a condensed revised version of just one aspect of the Hebrew word hesed, perhaps the greatest word in all of the Hebrew Testament.

Psalms 89:1  “I will sing of the mercies (hesed) of the LORD forever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.”

Since my last blog was disturbing… (even to me) I have decided to write something really nice.  The Hebrew word hesed is to me one of the greatest words in all the Old Testament… so much so that for years I have been unable to publish even one iota of my research on this word as it is so important and valuable, even to me.  It is a type of how Jesus treats his church.  The word hesed is so beautiful, that even the demons tremble at the sound of it, as it is God’s covenant between heaven and earth… the whole Bible summed up in one word, it is the most beautiful word in all of Hebrew.  This will just be an introduction to my favorite word in all the Bible as it is so important to me.  Let us begin.

As we can see in the scripture above, the angels sing over God’s creation.  The scripture says, I will sing.  If we can sing and we are made in the image of God, than for sure the angels, who are more beautiful than anything God has ever created on this earth (besides women of course) also have a right to sing when they are pleased with faithful stewards of God’s creation, namely people both men and women.  God gave Adam the right to choose between Good and Evil and he failed… it was eve the woman who had to pick him back up again after such a terrible fall, at least emotionally.  Thus sex began again, this time outside the garden and man was told by God that it was his responsibility to work to provide for his offspring.  Adam failed, Jesus shed his blood and now the story goes on and on about how much we love God.  There is more to the story but for the sake of my readers, I will move on.  (For more on this wonderful story please see note 1.)

As you can see from the drawing above, the Hebrew word Hesed is a beautiful word.  You can see it branch out in the English language as all of the words in the above diagram.  Can you spot the most important word?  It is the one in purple!  The color of majesty!  God always keeps his covenant with his faithful… that is beyond question!  So basically, you can replace the word Hesed with God’s love!  Hesed is the deepest expression of God’s love and thus is the reason why the Lord asked me to wait to write this one.  I needed to see something in real life to know that God does keep his covenant as I was saved at a very early age.  Some Christians barely get in, others God says no.  You can go to church all your life, be a good person and still miss what matters most – God’s heart.  Thank you to that wonderful pastor in seminary school who sent me his email that thoroughly defined the word.  His website will be listed at the bottom of this post.  I highly recommend you read his work… it is delicious food to feed the hungry.  We have been friends online for years now and he occasionally sends me some of his writings for me to review and expound on.  He is truly a man of God and a man of holy communion and of course, prayer.  Thank you pastor for making my life complete!  He is a true friend.

 Medieval-Hebrew-Manuscript

Hesed in the reason why I became a true believer of the Jewish Bible.  It is the only word that actually makes the Bible complete; for without God’s love, we would all be lost souls looking for a savior.  Hesed can be seen in about every instance of the Bible for it is God’s mercy for mankind.  God expects us to keep our covenant of love with Him, and in exchange He rewards us with unlimited mercy for our many sins.  I am writing this way because God showed me at some point the very sins you consider minor become a major problem the longer we walk with God.  For example, most Christians in America won’t steal, won’t lie, but they keep money in their fat wallets while hungry people suffer all around the globe.  Not good for those false Christians!  What is communion but a chance to start over again with God’s creation?  God gave Adam the responsibility of taking care of the animals in the garden, watering the garden, etc.  When he broke covenant with God, Satan took over and now look what we have here on earth.  Terrible people do terrible things… you ever wonder why?  Satan may come as an angel of light to some people but to others they call him a father too.  What a terrible decision not to go all the way with God.  The Bible tells us that all men have free choice to serve God, but eventually their time runs out and then Satan, laughing claims them for his own.  Women can be this way too, but generally the men are the masters of their own home and thus pay a higher penalty for what they allow especially on television and in the private home computers, especially in front of other people… never mind God!

Please allow me, my faithful friends and defenders of all that is holy to continue this at a later time… rest in sweet eternal bliss… my dear friend and fellow lover of truth… Robert Chupick (1930-2015)

Note 1: This is just one interpretation… A far stretch albeit… but worth the read, I’m sure!  I was thinking about the Garden of Eden while I was suffering a few years ago… the results are wonderful and I believe faithful to the scriptures that we have for us to learn about Jesus today.  Adam was so in love with his soul mate that he intentionally ate the fruit… choosing his wife over Yahweh.  Which of course Yahweh already knew about and was already prepared for.  A lamb was already being prepared already to cover his sin… Perhaps Eve desired Adam in the Garden and until this point sex was something that was not yet invented… so to speak… Maybe not, but this is one view.  Was it God’s plan at that particular moment in time to let them see each other naked… but without sex… as the angels covered their every move?  This we do not know for sure.  Once Adam made his decision to eat the fruit which I believe contained the only poison in the garden – (a type of fermented fruit perhaps) he got a little tipsy and wound tying the knot with his beautiful lover and soul mate.  Know where in the Bible is it ever recorded that God married Eve to Adam (or vice versa) but God obviously planned it and thus their union was blessed.  Even the serpent played into God’s hand by seducing eve to try the fruit… as sex was God’s idea in the first place (be fruitful and multiply) and something the angels never ever even think about doing… the fallen ones are a different story and are considered in this day and age haters of man and demons… or aliens… which ever you prefer.

Walking By Faith And Not By Sight

20 Sep

It is the nature of new Christian’s still untrained in the art of effective witnessing to attempt to win the souls of their fellow man based solely on human appearance and circumstances, rather than by allowing themselves to be led and directed by the Spirit of God. This is in no way to detract or discourage new believers from witnessing, but rather to hopefully inspire and encourage all of us to prayerfully consider what we are doing so as to have the best effect for the Lord and his Kingdom; bearing much fruit. To be frank, because of a lack of gut wrenching, heavenly influenced prayer, we often neglect many of God’s finest specimens (his special or elect instruments), all because of the very natural human tendency to instinctively judge our fellow man after the flesh.  We may see very little hope or value in a person because of sins they we know they have been guilty of committing in the past (take the woman caught in the very act of adultery in John 8:3) or because of their social or economic status (thus following in the footsteps of our friends, the self righteous Pharisees who secretly despised those whose wit, reason or finances did not closely mirror or reflect their own). On the other hand, we may see a creature full of pride, natural gifts, worldly talents, achievements, fame or notoriety that in someway excites our flesh (the part of our nature that still exists even after we have come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ,) thus making us ever so eager to babble about the gospel to them in spite of having to in some cases even deny what we know about God to be true, thus ignoring our own battered conscience. For instance, we all know the Bible says God resists the proud. Yet often Christians ‘feel compelled’ to share the gospel with those who inwardly have no hunger or need of God, thus they come to despise the message bearer for the intrusion. This cannot be good or what God had in mind.

Often the problem is a mixture of the heart that is responsible for producing this second mistake. We see something in a person that down deep inside we secretly admire, often to the point of even elevating that person above our own feelings of value and self worth in light of what the Bible says about us.  Therefore we sense a need or inward desire (even compulsion, perhaps) to somehow win them to the gospel, when in in all actuality this whole “spiritual” endeavor is more about us that it is about them.  Often it is us, that if we are honest inwardly desire something from them (whether love, friendship, acceptance, etc) rather they desiring the salvation that God offers: often he is far from their mind and from their heart.  In other words, it is often us that desires their presence rather than they who we claim are desiring the presence of Christ.

The disciples, on the day of Pentecost did not come out of that upper room with a need to mingle with sinners or learn their ways. Rather they were driven by the fire of the Holy Ghost and the high praises of Adonai that resulted in the true conversion of many that day which were seemingly lost and dead in their trespasses and sins. You see, the Holy Ghost had already met every inward need of theirs back in that upper room, thus enabling to see with heavenly eyes, while relieving them of any if their natural feelings of fear, inferiority and low self image.

In conclusion to this brief entry, I have made a list that I will post on a blog [below] that I feel was inspired by time with the Lord and past experiences. You may do with the list as you like.

Best wishes,
John

A Guide to Effective Witnessing:

20 Sep

Here is a quick list that I hope will at least be considered by those who wish God to use them in the winning of souls.

1. The posture of the man may or may not represent the condition of his or her heart.

2. A joyous look may not always be so.

3. Many people have, in their hearts already fully rejected the love and forgiveness that God offers and therefore will be left behind to taste the bitter fruit of having their own way. (Proverbs 1)

4. Not many who are noble (what we would choose if we were in charge) are called but more often it is those whom the world sees as unimportant (the poor in spirit) that the Lord is most concerned with. These are they whom the world has in essence ‘trampled over’ thus creating within their wounded sprits a greater sense of the needing something more than what this world currently has to offer. At the top of this list would be those thousands who are the victims resulting in the crimes and sins of other people: including, but not limited to those that are caught up in the hopelessness and human despair that results from the bondage of human trafficking and forced prostitution. Also on this list would have to be unwed mothers who, because of low self esteem have willingly given themselves over to the passions and sins of another and who are in great need, children without parents who can love and protect them, the elderly, the disabled along with those who are without the resources to live a productive and meaningful life apart from human and divine intervention.
this is the most important group that we must diligently go after as they are comprised and make up every facet and phase of society.

5. Many bums choose to be bums by their own choosing and will use you if they can. Often they are better left with a kind word while you continue ministering to others. God knows they who are seeking after him and those who are not. Be wary of those who may have ulterior motives, who may lure you to a back corner somewhere under the pretense of claiming to want to get saved. If they are truly repentant they will pray out in the open, in a public place as well as desiring to be under submission to a local church body. To paraphrase from memory Martin Luther, “their is no more dangerous man than a rebel.” Often it may be more prudent to ‘provoke to jealousy’ like the apostle Paul those who are in this way of life; thus perhaps inspiring them to leave their condition (often self imposed) and find a good church home and stability away from the streets… Remarkably, many of the men and women that fit in this category have by theor own choosing have already made their choice in this world.  Apart from a miracle they are destined to go to hell. Though scripture says that we are to be kind to all men, we do not always have to preach to them.  In other words, let our actions do most of the speaking!

6. Brokenness (i.e. the feeling of lacking the ability to achieve anything for Christ without the divine help and governing of the Holy Spirit – see “The First Beatitude) is not an option but rather must permeate all our evangelistic endeavors so much so that unbelievers will be forced to take notice of the pure fragrances of gentleness and meekness in world that has gone clearly mad. This is to be the example and standard for all of us who are called by the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

7. An attitude of prayer is also to be maintained throughout every evangelistic endeavor, as this is the most serious ingredient to effective souls winning. It can be said of prayer “that prayer is the fuel for the motors that must govern our lives.”

Many thanks again for all those who read this blog.

May the Lord be with you,
John

Do we pray for the Muslim Children in our Backyard?

15 Jul

Matthew 5:44-48   “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?   And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Here is a video that should break your heart.  Pray for courageous missionaries both here in America as well as overseas that will help to turn the tide of this racial/ethnic hatred to our Muslim extremists neighbors!

Update on Obama and the “War Against Mice!”

15 May

Since the arrival of Obama (see previous entry) I have noticed a lot of bizarre changes taking place in and around our house.  Unfortunately, it seems that he have begun to see a whole new sideof this cat much to our dismay, and even enjoys shall we say ‘mimicking’ many of the more contriversial actions of our nation’s community leader and organizer, I mean president.  Listed for you below are some of his bizarre activities and achievements since his hard won victory at being made to feel welcome in our home, as well as having received the highly esteemed and most coveted title: “Obama the Mouse catcher”.

obama1

List of Obama’s accomplishments as of today; May 15, 2009:

  • Mice killed – none
  • Resources spent – $150.00
  • Ratio of positive actions per dollar used- terrible!

Obama’s resume:

  • Obama was mysteriously dropped off in front of our house yet to this day stubborbly refuses to show or to release to us any proper identification or legal documentation as to whom he belongs, where his allegiance is or where he comes from (i.e. no birth certificate).
  • Obama promises that things will get better for us domestically (i.e. getting rid of all the mice) with a lot of luck, patience and hard work as well as sacrifices from both us and the mice in exchange of our loyal support of his every move and continuous supply of free food, snacks and gourmet treats; as well as being allowed the privilege to freely roam the premises so as to be able to recommend and invite himself to all of our social gatherings and family affairs.
  • Obama demands that we let him go outside from time to time so that he can play with the bugs at night as well as to vainly parade himself in a most pompous and peculiar display of self love and affection in front of our extremely jealous dogs, who have been reduced (to their extreme dissatisfaction and horror) to once again having to sleep outside.
  • Obama has declared that the much used phrase “the war on mice” is no longer acceptable and not to be used as it is not very popular with the mice, nor at all agreeable with his calm and peace loving nature, not to mention being a particular ‘bone of contention and personal affront’ to those whom he admires and was reared by.  He has proposed that a new title called “the swiss and cheddar cheese; ‘I’m in your cupboards and will not leave,’ overnight contingency” may be used instead until something more permanent can be made up.  He states that his new phrase is primarily a response to the idea that the first phrase may have on some level or another possessed the possibility of potentially wounding and offending other mice which have been known to be living quieter, more peaceful lives in the more remote parts of the world.
  • Within minutes of having given Obama the official title of “mice catcher” other cats have for whatever reason instinctively begun to follow him in an eerie, almost cult-like fashion.  On many of the streets where we live, we now watch and observe as these cats voluntarily line up in record numbers in order to merely catch a glimpse of their new found hero; his image already being projected onto large posters, signs and billboards as mice cheer and applaud wildly in the background.
  • Other colorful pictures have also been posted in many of the back streets and alleyways in the inner cities across town, where even hardened street cats have been reported to tearfully kneel down and pay homage to the feline portraits.  On any given Sunday you can watch as these cats spend entire afternoons quietly purring in love and affection, reverence and awe while gazing at these photographs; perhaps dreaming of the day when they too may become an object of such ardent love, affection, human desire and back alley worship.  Scenes like these are becoming more and more frequent and absurd, and much to my amazement no one seems to have any authority to try and stop them.  Even members of the local news and television media seem to be in awe as they have been reportedly requesting time off from their daily work routines just to catch a glimpse and witness this strange phenomenon.  Many have even claimed to have felt a strange, sudden unidentifiable sensation and reactionary feeling running up and down their weakened and reverent, awestruck legs!  Perhaps they too are secretly prostrating themselves before pictures of this great feline king.  Who knows?
  • obama2 Obama has spoken at great lengths and to many of his feline colleagues concerning the moral obligations that we as humans have in regards disregard many of the more proven, trustworthy, reliable, and conventional methods of capturing and effectively dealing with the mice caught in the act of trespassing and stealing food an other items.  Mouse traps that boast of their success by any means of momentary pain or discomfort he insists are wrong and inhumane and therfore should be banned from usage on even the worst of these ‘rebel mice’ who are even now

Obama: A Special and Truly Remarkable Guest

15 May

A few weeks ago I was going out to our barn (at the youth facility where I work/live) and to my surprise there sat none other than Obama himself on our front porch.   He literally scared the daylights out of me!  It was just after midnight when seemingly out of the blue I noticed something moving in the shadows.  My first thought was that it was a skunk, as all I could see is pair of eyes and a mixture of black and white fur.  Talk about creepy! There were no lights or fanfare, just Obama himself and boy was he hungry!  With one of my hands finagling the keys in the door while the other was holding my guitar, I somehow managed to steady my nerves asking him if he would please come inside.  As I unlocked the door, I was taken back as how I observed Obama pushing his way right in ahead of me, eagerly licking his lips in anticipation of some fine gourmet meal (at my expense no doubt) after a long hard day of being on his campaign trail.  Much to my surprise not only did he eat everything I gave him but he even licked the bowl!  Talk about manners!  But that’s not all.  After eating he began making promises to me (in ways that only he can) about how if I would support him and watch out for his general welfare that he would bring hope and change into my life in ways that I could never imagine; bringing an end to all terrorism, despair and outright theft that takes place in my home on a nightly basis because of a mice problem that we had been having for some time now.  After much debate and against my better judgment (not to mention his adamant persistence and insistence,) I decided that I would allow him to spend the night.  What was particularly disturbing to me was how after he had finished his food he would pace back and forth while watching my every move.  He told me that this was normal and that I should stop worrying about it.

On the exterior I found that Obama is indeed quite a handsome character, well groomed and with no outward sign of showing any dirt or fleas, as one might expect from someone in his position.  That night at about 3 am I awoke from my sleep to find him still pacing near the foot of my bed: soft guttural and affectionate noises were coming from his belly in sync to the rhythm of his body.   To make a long story short, the next day I told him that if he was to stay another night that he unfortunately be limited to the great outdoors or the barn as I couldn’t take another night of this!

At first the director of the youth ranch adamantly refused to keep such a thug as it would only be a source of contention and confusion for the animals we already have (3 dogs, 2 horses and 2 miniature donkeys) on our property.  After much intense deliberation and discussion from all those that were living with us during that time, we finally convinced her to let us keep the animal.  Obama himself seemed quite eager and able to talk about all the great things he would willingly contribute to our farm, and so it has been decided to let him stay indefinitely and was place under my loving care.  He has been given the affectionate title of “Obama the mice catcher” and we hope he will live up to his name!

That is all for now.

Sincerely yours,

John

P.S. Here are a picture I have taken with me and Obama.  Notice that his fur is both black and white – a truly adorable and handsome specimen if ever I have seen one!

The Secret Power of Suffering

7 May

1212192289iFohlz Today I was waiting in the car for what seemed like hours (actually it was a few hours) as a friend if mine was visiting one of her relatives.  As the process of what seemed like death was happening, (it was very hot) and as feelings such as “God, are you punishing me?” was floating around and around in my brain, yet being careful not to yield to…
1) anger at myself for allowing myself to be trapped into this kind of position:
2) bitterness toward God for allowing me to suffer like this  (I had planned to study all day back at the dock).
I was suddenly and rather unexpectedly asked to come inside to refresh myself on the third floor of the elegant looking condo.  Shortly after my arrival the Holy Spirit came upon me as I proceeded to share some of the testimonies I have seen and read of believers in other parts of the world that are being subjected to horrible injustices and unimaginable suffering.  I quoted from “The Heavenly Man” by brother Yun, a Chinese house pastor who miraculously escaped from China, as well as from the late Richard Wurmbrand, founder of the Voice of the Martyrs magazine, a free monthly publication sent to my address that tells true stories of those suffering for the cause of Christ today.  I then moved from the living room into the kitchen where I began to talk to one of the ladies who was the housekeeper where she proceeded to tell me about both her sons who were far away from God.  The first, a father of four is an alcoholic.  The second younger, only 22, is addicted to crack cocaine.  Both have been in prison before and said that she prays for them day and night.  Her father was an alcoholic, her late husband was an alcoholic, and her sons are both as I previously have mentioned in desperate need of God’s divine intervention.

As she was speaking I had an intense desire to pray right then for her two sons, the most precious things to her left in this world.  At first I began to hesitate, because I do this all the time, and Satan attempts to instill in me unbelief as to how effective my prayers are in these type’s of situations.  (Often I never see the people that I pray for again!)  Today was different!  Immediately, the Holy spirit directed my prayers as the new tongues came forth that I had never known, without any interference from my emotions in the least.

Side note: For those that may be skeptical of “tongues,” the gift of speaking in unknown languages marked the beginning of the early church.  As we continue to draw nearer and nearer to the return of Jesus Christ, you can be sure that all the gifts mentioned in the early church will be in full operation; welcoming the Creator Redeemer back to his earth.)

Evangelism, suffering, the dying to all that is worldly divine healings and the like will be common activities in the body before the return of the Lord.  America wake up!  The church as a whole in our nation is the church that is found in the book of revelation chapter three.  We are the poor, the blind the weak the needy the crippled the lame, yet we boast of going all the way and enjoying sweet fellowship with Jesus Christ.  What a slap in the face of a Jesus.  I know the Lord has directed me to live according to the scripture found in 2 Corinthians 6:17,  saying “be ye separate and clean and i will receive you … touch not the unclean thing”  My dearly beloved and much loved ones, do not be fooled. To have fellowship with this world is to commit spiritual adultery and fornication.  Never allow anything to break your fellowship and communion with Almighty God. Before I was a Christian, I did all sorts of wicked, evil deeds, committing crimes and playing music on behalf of the prince of this world, Satan.  Do not be deceived my dearly beloved, God is not mocked; for what ever a man sows that will he also reap.  (And that is my message for the secular so called Christian music and entertainment industry.)  God will judge sin, all sin, and according to a good, sound understanding of the Old testament as echoed in 1 Peter 4:17 “Judgment begins at the house of God.” Be careful whom you chose to associate with!  Your life may depend upon it, either in this world or else in the world to come.  And take my advice, you will wish you had listened as heaven is a very real dwelling, as is hell.

Going back to my story, as I began to pray, immediately I began to pray first for her older son, the father of four girls.  As I proceeded to begin to pray for the younger one again, I felt God began to direct my every word and the Spirit began to make intercession through me as i yielded to His will.  It was not a long prayer but I knew the will God had been sprung forth, or as I will use the phrase “was motivated into action.”  It is not that he needs us to pray, he refuses to act unless we do.  This is the Word of God.  In the Old Testament God marveled “that there was no one to stand in the gap* for the land, that he might not destroy it…”

*[stand in the gap = to intercede by much prayer and fasting]

Abraham in the Old testament also was literally “sprung into action,” interceding remarkably not only for his wayward nephew Lot, but for an entire land filled with sodomites and wicked, proud, sinful people so given over to their vile passions that they even tried to raping angels sent by God!  We must do the same beginning today, pouring out our hearts to the Lord, and pleading for His will and mercy for those we know, in spite of the severe persecution and judgments that lay ahead for this nation.  A remnant must be saved!  Christian, will you partner with me by fasting and praying for the souls of this great land?

[Back to the article]  To recap my adventure today, one thing above all else stands out.  Learn to suffer now, during the good times.  Many times my negative attitudes in the past have literally stopped the Holy Spirit from being able to use me in the way that I know he would have desired to in certain situations.  Yet God is faithful, and will not allow his children to go unchecked for too long when necessary.  The way to know whether or not your are truly God’s child is this -do you trust Him?  Does He gently correct you, often if necessary?  Do you wake up in the morning with His praise on your lips, His word in your heart?  Dear friend please, one day it will be too late… accept His blood and atonement for your sins now while you read this post, before it’s too late… “The night is far spent, the day is at hand, let us therefore cast off [all] the works of darkness, and let us put on the [full] armor of light.” Romans 13:12

Your comments here are always welcome.  Shalom.  Peace be with you.

Pastors – Preach the Truth!

5 May

A personal prophecy I received from the spirit of the Lord and typed May 6, 2009…

“Woe unto those that know the truth and do not preach it; yea, woe unto them.  Adultery is in many of their hearts and covetousness too.  In their hearts they are never satisfied with the numbers of the flocks that attempt to graze in their pastures, not because of their desire to see souls saved but rather because of the tithes, gifts and offerings they receive as well as what adds to their own personal ego and sense of accomplishment.  Woe unto the pastors and shepherds that call good evil and evil good and that do not speak out against sin, especially when right before their eyes and even against specific sins that they know dwell in the midst of their flocks.   Woe unto those pastors who support and encourage only those  speakers and evangelists or musicians/entertainers (mainly false prophets) who they know will not shake or stir the current status quo of their church but will rather add to it’s growing sense of religious pride as well as it’s reputation for worldy comforts and grandiose; luxury, prosperity and ease rather than for the pure and unadulterated and uncompromised word of God.

The word that began the early church when preached, as defined in the book of Hebrews is recorded as being sharper than any two edged sword; piercing the hearts of men, and having within it the ability to distinguish and separate between the flesh and the spirit, the sanctified and the vile, the saint and the sinner.  What an awful day of judgment awaits men and women alike who willingly neglect their duties, and who in their minds put far off the evil day of the Lord.  Woe unto pastor’s and church leaders who are more concerned with spending money to beautify the appearance of their religious grounds exteriors and interiors (beautiful tombs as Jesus calls them) rather than using those finances to save the lost souls of men.  Pastors that in their heart prefer to watch sports, to surf the internet, etc (many of these are even addicted to pornography) rather than to pray for the lost souls of men will have a terrible loss at the day reckoning.

Grace mercy and peace be upon you all that love the Lord Jesus in sincerity and in truth.”

John Mark Butzu

P.S. Do you think this is a message from the Lord for you?  Pray about it and ask the Lord to give to you a heart believes even for the impossible areas in your life.  May the Lord bless you and keep you in the center of his love and will.  –  John

Pastors Message (#2)

5 May

I recently posted some video links concerning testimonies of people that died and saw (felt) heaven and/or hell.  Strangely enough, someone later hacked the site where these video were from and replaced them with the latest (I’m assuming) video from rap superstar Eminem.  (Apologies to anyone who saw them!)

The reason for this post is I later showed these videos to a friend of mine (the one from Eminem) and we prayed for him.  But here is my message to those that struggle to proclaim the ways of the Lord: Maybe you should watch this video, as it clearly shows the struggle for souls from a different perspective.  If you can understand even some of the lyrics you will see for sure that Satan know his time is now very short. What other generation has been saturated in the kind of filth that we see here day and night on secular television MTV and on the internet?  The truth is Satan wants souls to be with him in hell more than most Christians wants souls to go with them into heaven!

Here is my point:  If your preaching and teaching as a pastor doesn’t reflect the same zeal and intensity for the Lord than these singers do right now for kingdom of darkness, that what on earth are you doing?  Most people today will not relate to the cold and abstract; they want to feel, to touch, to experience.  That is the one great advantage to living in this time!  We have the Holy Ghost! He wants to break out on the left and on the right with power that you and I can only imagine, thus drawing many souls to Himself as in the days of old.  Do not block the moving of the Lord!  Pray, weep, fast and intercede for the souls of the nation wherever you live.  God declares in his Word that He is no respecter of persons and will hear and receive all who call upon him in spirit and in truth.

I do not write this to condemn anyone; but simply to encourage and hopefully edify those in the body of Christ who may be hurting yet have great potential to influence and build up others through their own healing.

I have posted this video as long as one or two others from a different source:  Here are the videos:  Please I warn you before you watch these videos that they are not for your kids!

Note: After watching this video the question occurred to me “what society ever before has endorsed this kind and level of decay and filth as acceptable for viewing and entertainment pleasure, that allows men like these to sit in their mansions writing their devilish material unopposed.  They may have their mansions now, but we get to live in ours for all of eternity! You would think someone in congress would try to stop videos like these.  I guess it really does show you who is in charge of the world.  We are living in a time of unimaginable darkness and sin.

P.S.  After watching these you may want to refresh yourself.  Here is some real music for you to enjoy:

Before you watch these it would not hurt for you to pray this prayer first out loud: “Father, I love you, I worship you with all my might.  I bind every unclean spirit and will be obedient when you ask me to shut this video off.  In Jesus mighty and most powerful name, Amen.”

For the first video: If you do not have the time or cannot stomach the whole thing just start in the middle somewhere… you’ll still get the picture.  IF you want the lyrics here you go… they’re really quite sad.

Also… these videos may be offensive to some women.

(at about 3:30 in the song above he is screaming in front of a live audience:  “the time has come, it is quite clear, our antichrist is almost here…”  incredible!)

What we really need

28 Apr

Editors Note:  This was copied from a previous blog entry at a different website dated April 13, 2008.  Hope you enjoy it.

Today I was reading in the book of Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: I had recently done some traveling and have noticed one thing in particular:  We need the Holy Ghost in our lives above everything else!  We pray for more possessions, freedom from our responsibilities, etc, yet many of these blessings actually can become more of a snare than a real blessing so often of the time.  What we really need today more than ever before is for men and women to rise up like Anna in the New Testament who, awaiting the coming of her savior, dedicated her life to prayer and intercession on behalf of her fellow countrymen. We need Christians who know how to pray and that love the practice of prayer, who study their Bible: not to gain some intellectual advantage over their peers, but who with a broken heart search out even the hardest sayings in the Bible, whose hearts cry out like the psalmist David, Search me O God, and try me: see if there be any wicked way in me, anything that might hinder someone from finding and loving you.(pp)  We need believer’s who hunger for God to be seen flowing in and through them more than they yearn for financial success or the praise and adulation of men: men and women of all ages who possess within them a deep and burning desire to see lives changed; who have spent quality time in prayer, and who’s very lives testify against a society that has become absolutely barbaric and shocking in the sins of which it now openly practices, applauds, commits and accepts.

We have programs inside of our churches for everything that so much of the time replaces the original and true reason for Christian fellowship: empowerment.  Every time members of the early church came together the results were always the same: the Holy Ghost filling their hearts with the love and empowerment to win souls, to be kind to their enemies, to pray for their nation’s rebellious leaders (instead of tearing them down), etc.  Do you leave your church excited, bursting inside with the need to tell someone about the love of Jesus Christ? If you don’t chances are there may be something lacking either in your pastors’ personal prayer time or in your own walk with the Lord.  While on a vacation (during which God allowed me graciously to have the time to create this website) I purchased at a fairly reasonable price a new Bible software program that I had been praying for for quite some time.  Although I now have this software I know from experience that this in and of itself cannot magically make me a better Bible student.  I must first ask the Holy Ghost to help me so that:

1) I will not waste time playing with parts of this program that I do not need and am certainly not ready to use.

2) So that He will lead me to share the Scriptures as accurately as I can and with great joy and enthusiasm.

3) To empower my study so that He will cause Himself to remain glorified through the work if my hands, and through all the day.

To much of our time as Christians is spent on performing tasks that we are not really yet ready to handle or do not need.  I think of all the millions of dollars that are spent for things that steal our time away from Christ: especially for temporary entertainment and personal pleasure. I wonder where Christianity would be today if the first disciples instead of fasting and prayer gathered in that upper room for the sole purpose of playing video games  on their desert Sony X boxes and Play Station 2’s and 3’s. Sit and think for a while on how much time we waste.  Why don’t we a Christians put our idols away and pray for a generation of young people that have never known what it is to experience the love of Jesus Christ.  We should compare our lives as the followers of Christ to the writings found in the gospels and other portions of New Testament scripture and not to those that just happen to live and work around us.  How do our lives measure against the words of Jesus and not our western neighbors?  After all, that is how we will be judged at the resurrection.  Remember the words of Jesus “that those that have much, much will be required.”  We in America have more wealth than any other nation on earth.  How will we as Christians be judged who live in it, who consume so much of the resources that God give us on ourselves, in light of the affliction and poverty of those that we see all perhaps by television or the internet all around us.  Have our hearts become that hardened that we are unwilling to even share our bread with those that so desperately need it, not to mention the true bread that we have inside of us; the living Word of God.  Recall especially Matthew 25 where we find the parable of the talents, the wise and foolish virgins, and the parable of the sheep and the goats.  It was not so much what these so called believers did but what they didn’t do that excluded them from them partaking in the marriage supper of the lamb.

Today is the day that the Lord has made.  Let us all do our very, very best for Him.

Quote of the day: Tertullian, one of the early church fathers, wrote: “How beautiful, then, the marriage of two Christians, two who are one in home, one in desire, one in the way of life they follow, one in the religion they practice . . . Nothing divides them either in flesh or in spirit . . . They pray together, they worship together, they fast together; instructing one another, encouraging one another, strengthening one another. Side by side they visit God’s church and partake God’s banquet, side by side they face difficulties and persecution, share their consolations. They have no secrets from one another; they never shun each other’s company; they never bring sorrow to each other’s hearts . . . Seeing this Christ rejoices. To such as these He gives His peace. Where there are two together, there also He is present.”

Why do Christians love to disagree?

21 Apr

This too was taken off of an older blog… sometime in the spring of 2008.  Hope you enjoy it.

Today I was introduced to a woman who hosts a Messianic Christian talk show program online.  I was hoping to have a nice quiet, edifying discussion about the Hebrew Bible, particularly since she too claims to have a love for the Hebrew language and is  a Jew by birth!  Not the case.  Right away, I knew there was going to be problems basically because of her unwillingness to allow me to even communicate with her without her attempting to control and alter the conversation.  She claims to have studied under different rabbi’s and from I can tell is probably somewhat educated.  Yet while she talked her only agenda it was obvious was to convert me to her beliefs on practicing our faith with the keeping of the levitical, Mosaic law; by observing the different feasts and so forth.  She claims that the early church, both Jews and Gentiles, kept these feasts and we are clearly wrong from scripture not to do the same.  I would have at least listened politely to what she had to say if it had not been for the way that she had said it.  I can remember when I first began studying Hebrew, I felt such a love for the ancient themes and cultures of the Holy land (and still do) and even remember the Holy Spirit leading me to observe the Sabbath on a different day of the week, such as on Saturday.  But what stuck me as being so distasteful was her lack of interest and total self absorption for anything but her own point of view.  I think she may have wanted to check to see if I had been properly circumcised if I had allowed the conversation to continue.  (Please don’t dwell on this point!)  I quickly excused myself and when back to my work.  Ughhh!  There is nothing more stupid in my opinion than for a Christian who willingly and intentionally is comfortable with causing a division over carnal pet doctrines and the teachings of man.  How you know what a person truly is like is not by their words but by their actions.  I don’t care what any one is trying to tell me.  If in their words you sense a readiness or a willingness to cause divisions and strife, watch out!  If during any debate (and there has been a few legitimate debates by Christians in the past usually over a newly learned piece of information) you do not sense above all else a deep and abiding, pure river of love emanating from whomever is heading the discussion, the best thing is probably to excuse yourself politely and walk away.  They are not really after your best interest but their own.  Remember what the apostle Paul had to endure when Jews that had been supposedly converted to Christ came to spy out the liberty and freedom of the churches in Antioch.  Not once did Paul allow their words to have any place in his meetings as they were trying to add to the message of the gospel of faith alone in Jesus; much to their own sense of Jewish traditionalism and nationalism. Man inherently always tries to find a way to spoil the simple truths of the Gospel.  When the crowd on the day of Pentecost cried out in Acts 2 “what must we do to be saved,” Peter’s answer was simple: Repent and be baptized“.   No seven steps to this or three steps to that, no, just a simple acknowledgment of having done wrong and a willingness to want to change. I guess that is why I am also so against much of the “self help” books that are published for and by the church today.  Don’t they read their Bible’s?  Your flesh cannot be altered or improved!  It must be crucified!  Imagine Peter, instead of his recorded sermon in Acts 2 choosing instead to preach a message entitled “Your Best Life Now” or some rubbish of the like.  What a hypocrite he would have been called by the people he had seemingly just converted, as just two chapters later we find him sitting in a holding cell after being arrested for holding a street meeting, preaching and healing a cripple!  Later, they were beaten, kicked, stoned, rejected thrown in prison, delivered from prison, mocked, ridiculed, thrown back in jail, condemned to death, put on crosses, set on fire, and publicly denounced as being stupid and blasphemous: the very rejects of a pagan society!  Their women and children may have been forced to become slaves of the vilest types.  Not what most people would esteem as their best life now by even most third world countries’ standards of living.  Yet this has always been the design and craftsmanship of God, to separate the wheat from the chaff.  What a horrible judgment awaits these false bishops who claim to represent a God they know nothing about!  You could have been raised in church all you life.  It really doesn’t matter.  What does matter is your relationship with God – do you really know Him?  Do you sense His presence when no one else is around, or do you prefer the internet, movies and hours and hours sensual, vile television?  I write these blogs as preparations for messages that one day I may be asked to preach and as well as to hone and develop my skills as a writer and critical thinker.  (Not really, I hardy have time to proof these for grammatical errors as you by now may have noticed!)  But rest assured, my treasures are not in things of this world.  No way!  My treasures are in heaven!

Going back to my conversation with this woman, I can disagree with you but still believe with you and pray for you and most of all love you: even while continuing to disagree with you about nonessential doctrines.  Maybe this observing the feasts was to her an essential doctrine, but them I would have to conclude (as I do) that she is living far from the grace of our God and very near to the bondage that comes with trying to keep the law.  Her life is spent far from the cross at Calvary, my guess would be more like incorporating into her preconceived ideas of learned religion the redemptive work and blood of Jesus Christ.

Please do not be mistaken, even though my flesh felt like pulling away from her in mid-sentence, when I did walk away the Holy Spirit allowed me to feel apart of how much He loves her in spite of the trouble.  She still belongs to the body of Jesus Christ and is loved by the Father.  And he has allowed me to feel that love for her.  So even though we do not agree, if she was willing to “put down the gloves” so to speak” (and by putting her false doctrine away), we would be able to have beautiful communion because of the fact we are still members of the same true church; the body of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Please do not allow your personal views and preferences to cause strife or division toward any other member of the body of Christ.   It is embarrassing.

Quote: “Satan loves to promote disunity, for he knows something that many Christians don’t – God refuses to work in a context of disunity.” (Tony Evans)

“Satan has always been a deceiver and must truly rejoice when any thing is allowed to be elevated higher than the finished work of Jesus Christ, his death on the cross, and thus His payment for our sins.”  (Me!)

Psalms 90:1 (Quickly)

17 Apr

Psalms 90:1 “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling places throughout all generations.”

I have been quite puzzled by this verse for some time now – what was the Moses (the author) really trying to say?  What was going through his mind when he wrote this?* At least part of the answer, I believe is found in the title.  For forty years Moses faithfully led a seemingly rebellious and stiff necked generation of people around in a wilderness who choose again and again to do exactly opposite to what the Lord had intended for them to do, thus negating God’s promises and blessings.  Yet in spite of this, Moses, while looking back on the faithfulness of God, I believe cries out from the depths of his heart in verse one in wonder and holy awe: “Lord, you (you alone) have been our dwelling place… our refuge in all generations.” Not a particular place nor tent or tabernacle – no, the Holy Spirit on earth: He is and always has been the supply and source of refuge for all believer’s no matter where they been forced to lay down their heads from time to time in each and every generation.  He is protector and comforter, our hope and our shield.  And He is the one that gently whispers to us the promise of that great reward for those that sincerely walk according to his plan and purpose, striving for His best in and for our lives each and every day.  Praise be to God.  Amen.

*I believe this is a correct model for studying all scripture: to look at the words from the writers perspective: not our own.
