Do we pray for the Muslim Children in our Backyard?

15 Jul

Matthew 5:44-48   “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?   And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Here is a video that should break your heart.  Pray for courageous missionaries both here in America as well as overseas that will help to turn the tide of this racial/ethnic hatred to our Muslim extremists neighbors!

The Secret Power of Suffering

7 May

1212192289iFohlz Today I was waiting in the car for what seemed like hours (actually it was a few hours) as a friend if mine was visiting one of her relatives.  As the process of what seemed like death was happening, (it was very hot) and as feelings such as “God, are you punishing me?” was floating around and around in my brain, yet being careful not to yield to…
1) anger at myself for allowing myself to be trapped into this kind of position:
2) bitterness toward God for allowing me to suffer like this  (I had planned to study all day back at the dock).
I was suddenly and rather unexpectedly asked to come inside to refresh myself on the third floor of the elegant looking condo.  Shortly after my arrival the Holy Spirit came upon me as I proceeded to share some of the testimonies I have seen and read of believers in other parts of the world that are being subjected to horrible injustices and unimaginable suffering.  I quoted from “The Heavenly Man” by brother Yun, a Chinese house pastor who miraculously escaped from China, as well as from the late Richard Wurmbrand, founder of the Voice of the Martyrs magazine, a free monthly publication sent to my address that tells true stories of those suffering for the cause of Christ today.  I then moved from the living room into the kitchen where I began to talk to one of the ladies who was the housekeeper where she proceeded to tell me about both her sons who were far away from God.  The first, a father of four is an alcoholic.  The second younger, only 22, is addicted to crack cocaine.  Both have been in prison before and said that she prays for them day and night.  Her father was an alcoholic, her late husband was an alcoholic, and her sons are both as I previously have mentioned in desperate need of God’s divine intervention.

As she was speaking I had an intense desire to pray right then for her two sons, the most precious things to her left in this world.  At first I began to hesitate, because I do this all the time, and Satan attempts to instill in me unbelief as to how effective my prayers are in these type’s of situations.  (Often I never see the people that I pray for again!)  Today was different!  Immediately, the Holy spirit directed my prayers as the new tongues came forth that I had never known, without any interference from my emotions in the least.

Side note: For those that may be skeptical of “tongues,” the gift of speaking in unknown languages marked the beginning of the early church.  As we continue to draw nearer and nearer to the return of Jesus Christ, you can be sure that all the gifts mentioned in the early church will be in full operation; welcoming the Creator Redeemer back to his earth.)

Evangelism, suffering, the dying to all that is worldly divine healings and the like will be common activities in the body before the return of the Lord.  America wake up!  The church as a whole in our nation is the church that is found in the book of revelation chapter three.  We are the poor, the blind the weak the needy the crippled the lame, yet we boast of going all the way and enjoying sweet fellowship with Jesus Christ.  What a slap in the face of a Jesus.  I know the Lord has directed me to live according to the scripture found in 2 Corinthians 6:17,  saying “be ye separate and clean and i will receive you … touch not the unclean thing”  My dearly beloved and much loved ones, do not be fooled. To have fellowship with this world is to commit spiritual adultery and fornication.  Never allow anything to break your fellowship and communion with Almighty God. Before I was a Christian, I did all sorts of wicked, evil deeds, committing crimes and playing music on behalf of the prince of this world, Satan.  Do not be deceived my dearly beloved, God is not mocked; for what ever a man sows that will he also reap.  (And that is my message for the secular so called Christian music and entertainment industry.)  God will judge sin, all sin, and according to a good, sound understanding of the Old testament as echoed in 1 Peter 4:17 “Judgment begins at the house of God.” Be careful whom you chose to associate with!  Your life may depend upon it, either in this world or else in the world to come.  And take my advice, you will wish you had listened as heaven is a very real dwelling, as is hell.

Going back to my story, as I began to pray, immediately I began to pray first for her older son, the father of four girls.  As I proceeded to begin to pray for the younger one again, I felt God began to direct my every word and the Spirit began to make intercession through me as i yielded to His will.  It was not a long prayer but I knew the will God had been sprung forth, or as I will use the phrase “was motivated into action.”  It is not that he needs us to pray, he refuses to act unless we do.  This is the Word of God.  In the Old Testament God marveled “that there was no one to stand in the gap* for the land, that he might not destroy it…”

*[stand in the gap = to intercede by much prayer and fasting]

Abraham in the Old testament also was literally “sprung into action,” interceding remarkably not only for his wayward nephew Lot, but for an entire land filled with sodomites and wicked, proud, sinful people so given over to their vile passions that they even tried to raping angels sent by God!  We must do the same beginning today, pouring out our hearts to the Lord, and pleading for His will and mercy for those we know, in spite of the severe persecution and judgments that lay ahead for this nation.  A remnant must be saved!  Christian, will you partner with me by fasting and praying for the souls of this great land?

[Back to the article]  To recap my adventure today, one thing above all else stands out.  Learn to suffer now, during the good times.  Many times my negative attitudes in the past have literally stopped the Holy Spirit from being able to use me in the way that I know he would have desired to in certain situations.  Yet God is faithful, and will not allow his children to go unchecked for too long when necessary.  The way to know whether or not your are truly God’s child is this -do you trust Him?  Does He gently correct you, often if necessary?  Do you wake up in the morning with His praise on your lips, His word in your heart?  Dear friend please, one day it will be too late… accept His blood and atonement for your sins now while you read this post, before it’s too late… “The night is far spent, the day is at hand, let us therefore cast off [all] the works of darkness, and let us put on the [full] armor of light.” Romans 13:12

What we really need

28 Apr

Editors Note:  This was copied from a previous blog entry at a different website dated April 13, 2008.  Hope you enjoy it.

Today I was reading in the book of Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: I had recently done some traveling and have noticed one thing in particular:  We need the Holy Ghost in our lives above everything else!  We pray for more possessions, freedom from our responsibilities, etc, yet many of these blessings actually can become more of a snare than a real blessing so often of the time.  What we really need today more than ever before is for men and women to rise up like Anna in the New Testament who, awaiting the coming of her savior, dedicated her life to prayer and intercession on behalf of her fellow countrymen. We need Christians who know how to pray and that love the practice of prayer, who study their Bible: not to gain some intellectual advantage over their peers, but who with a broken heart search out even the hardest sayings in the Bible, whose hearts cry out like the psalmist David, Search me O God, and try me: see if there be any wicked way in me, anything that might hinder someone from finding and loving you.(pp)  We need believer’s who hunger for God to be seen flowing in and through them more than they yearn for financial success or the praise and adulation of men: men and women of all ages who possess within them a deep and burning desire to see lives changed; who have spent quality time in prayer, and who’s very lives testify against a society that has become absolutely barbaric and shocking in the sins of which it now openly practices, applauds, commits and accepts.

We have programs inside of our churches for everything that so much of the time replaces the original and true reason for Christian fellowship: empowerment.  Every time members of the early church came together the results were always the same: the Holy Ghost filling their hearts with the love and empowerment to win souls, to be kind to their enemies, to pray for their nation’s rebellious leaders (instead of tearing them down), etc.  Do you leave your church excited, bursting inside with the need to tell someone about the love of Jesus Christ? If you don’t chances are there may be something lacking either in your pastors’ personal prayer time or in your own walk with the Lord.  While on a vacation (during which God allowed me graciously to have the time to create this website) I purchased at a fairly reasonable price a new Bible software program that I had been praying for for quite some time.  Although I now have this software I know from experience that this in and of itself cannot magically make me a better Bible student.  I must first ask the Holy Ghost to help me so that:

1) I will not waste time playing with parts of this program that I do not need and am certainly not ready to use.

2) So that He will lead me to share the Scriptures as accurately as I can and with great joy and enthusiasm.

3) To empower my study so that He will cause Himself to remain glorified through the work if my hands, and through all the day.

To much of our time as Christians is spent on performing tasks that we are not really yet ready to handle or do not need.  I think of all the millions of dollars that are spent for things that steal our time away from Christ: especially for temporary entertainment and personal pleasure. I wonder where Christianity would be today if the first disciples instead of fasting and prayer gathered in that upper room for the sole purpose of playing video games  on their desert Sony X boxes and Play Station 2’s and 3’s. Sit and think for a while on how much time we waste.  Why don’t we a Christians put our idols away and pray for a generation of young people that have never known what it is to experience the love of Jesus Christ.  We should compare our lives as the followers of Christ to the writings found in the gospels and other portions of New Testament scripture and not to those that just happen to live and work around us.  How do our lives measure against the words of Jesus and not our western neighbors?  After all, that is how we will be judged at the resurrection.  Remember the words of Jesus “that those that have much, much will be required.”  We in America have more wealth than any other nation on earth.  How will we as Christians be judged who live in it, who consume so much of the resources that God give us on ourselves, in light of the affliction and poverty of those that we see all perhaps by television or the internet all around us.  Have our hearts become that hardened that we are unwilling to even share our bread with those that so desperately need it, not to mention the true bread that we have inside of us; the living Word of God.  Recall especially Matthew 25 where we find the parable of the talents, the wise and foolish virgins, and the parable of the sheep and the goats.  It was not so much what these so called believers did but what they didn’t do that excluded them from them partaking in the marriage supper of the lamb.

Today is the day that the Lord has made.  Let us all do our very, very best for Him.

Quote of the day: Tertullian, one of the early church fathers, wrote: “How beautiful, then, the marriage of two Christians, two who are one in home, one in desire, one in the way of life they follow, one in the religion they practice . . . Nothing divides them either in flesh or in spirit . . . They pray together, they worship together, they fast together; instructing one another, encouraging one another, strengthening one another. Side by side they visit God’s church and partake God’s banquet, side by side they face difficulties and persecution, share their consolations. They have no secrets from one another; they never shun each other’s company; they never bring sorrow to each other’s hearts . . . Seeing this Christ rejoices. To such as these He gives His peace. Where there are two together, there also He is present.”
